✦So, is this correct? "After this tremendous amount of time all protons — and all complex structures of matter as we know them — will have broken apart and disappeared from the cosmos."

✦Or should it say, "After this tremendous amount of time *one-half of* all protons — and *one-half of* all complex structures of matter as we know them — will have broken apart and disappeared from the cosmos." ?
