DNA encodes for proteins. Proteins cannot direct "behaviors" existing at the more complex and extreme end of the spectrum in fauna and flora around the world. This is one of the endless examples of behaviors that cannot be explained with proteins:
There are uncountable examples of DNA and proteins not be anywhere near the whole story. What then explains the whole story? Some unknown metaphysics? Morphic resonances? What is that? The more you look at the world with an honest and open mind, the more you realize that you do not know how it works and that you are nowhere close to understanding "how it works." You are pretending that you "know" that somehow "mindless matter and energy" explains everything with no need for "outside agency." Please stop doing that.
